Growing Strong, Skilled, and Compassionate Clinicians
Biography
My supervision philosophy is grounded in the belief that counselors grow best within a supportive, structured, collaborative, and culturally responsive environment. I view supervision as a developmental process in which I serve as a teacher, mentor, consultant, evaluator, and professional gatekeeper. My goal is to provide supervisees with a safe space to ask questions, reflect honestly, strengthen their clinical judgment, and develop confidence in their professional identity. I use a strengths-based and individualized approach while also maintaining clear expectations, accountability, and ethical standards. Supervision includes case consultation, skill development, self-reflection, attention to cultural and personal influences, documentation review, professional boundaries, and ethical decision-making. I believe feedback should be direct, respectful, practical, and balanced with recognition of each supervisee’s progress. Above all, I prioritize client welfare and the development of competent, ethical, compassionate, and authentic counselors. I want supervisees to leave supervision knowing how to think critically, recognize their limitations, seek appropriate consultation, and provide responsible care while developing their own therapeutic voice.
