Biography
My supervision philosophy is integrative, developmental, and collaborative. I believe effective supervision is less about telling therapists-in-training what to do and more about walking alongside them as they develop their own clinical judgment, confidence, and professional identity. I draw from several supervision approaches and adapt my style to the developmental needs, strengths, and learning style of each supervisee. Rather than immediately providing an answer, I often begin by asking, “What are your thoughts?” or “How are you conceptualizing what is happening here?” I want supervisees to learn how to think clinically, not simply learn how I would handle a situation. My role is to provide guidance, challenge assumptions when appropriate, offer alternative perspectives, and create a safe environment in which questions, uncertainty, and mistakes can become opportunities for growth. Ultimately, my goal is to help develop thoughtful, ethical, self-aware clinicians who can trust their clinical reasoning while also recognizing when to seek consultation and support.
